As we're approaching Sidney's three month birthday, I am thinking of all the changes that have taken place. She is much more interactive now and is becoming more fun to be around. She has been sleeping through the night since around six weeks for which Davin and I are very, very grateful. The trick seems to be not running into her room at every stir or fuss. She seems to be good at putting herself back to sleep. The only challenge with sleep has been getting her to go to sleep in the first place. She get's very fussy in the late evening, and we have found it challenging to put her down. The thing that seems to work the best is nursing her right before bed. She will usually fuss a little bit, but be asleep within a few minutes. Then, she's out until 7 or 8am. Wonderful!
She really is a good baby. She seems to enjoy car rides though we haven't ventured too far from home yet. She will sit through a meal at a restaurant provided she isn't hungry or too warm. Davin and I have been able to enjoy many meals out because of her good nature. We feel very fortunate because we have always loved dining out and are glad we can continue to do so.
She loves to go for walks. We try to go on one everyday, and she seems to enjoy looking at all the sights - trees, lights, birds, cars, whatever. She is taking it all in I suppose.
I have been told by several people that things start to get really good around four months, and I am really looking forward to that. I am already starting to see the rewards for all the hard work Davin and I have put in with her over the last three months (and even during pregnancy.) So far, she is a happy baby and it is obvious she loves her parents. I feel very lucky to have had her.
The next post will be her three month picture in her pink, polka dot chair. Can't wait.
